Project Vanguard

Project Vanguard, an AFWERX program under the Capital Initiative division, is responsible for increasing private capital into the Department of the Air Force (DAF) SBIR/STTR portfolio to grow the rate of transition and commercialization opportunities, with a focus on more mature Growth-stage eligible Phase II companies who have active participation from a government customer. Project Vanguard leverages private capital and market insights to increase investment in DAF critical and emerging technologies by providing industry-leading technology scouting to inform future requirements.

Project Vanguard empowers DAF partners to optimize funding commitments and expedite time requirements to acquire critical industry technologies

This project aims to identify STRATFI eligible Phase II companies and well as current STRATFI and TACFI winners actively working with a DoD Program Office. This community allows investors to participate in the market research process, informing future requirements while engaging with private funding opportunities in the AFWERX portfolio of companies.
